Design, Science and Music

0 0

Where now in design? We have, in the words of Danny Hillis, become “so intertwined with what we have created that we are no longer separate from it. We have outgrown the distinction between the natural and the artificial.” This talk is a reflection on the fusion of design and science practiced at the MIT Media Lab. It also draws on experiences at Dopplr, the Nokia Design studio, and most recently, the Sync Project, a global collaboration harnessing the power of music for health. Sync is applying machine learning to a dataset combining music listening and it’s biometric effects, to develop music as personalised medicine.
