And will immediately be inspired by the visual idea and its execution – whether graphic, photographic, or illustrative.Stefan Kiefer is a veteran cover and creative director at SPIEGEL magazine. In this intensive and practical workshop, he will provide insights on the essentials of a “good” cover. You will learn how to generate and realize fresh and new cover ideas for (customer and corporate) magazines.Distinctive and successful covers of international magazines will be introduced and discussed to serve as a source of inspiration. Furthermore, you will gain access to the extensive wealth of experience your tutor has built up from estimated 10,000 cover layouts for the SPIEGEL.The goal of this workshop is to understand and to learn how to apply the basic principles of a successful cover. In the course of the workshop day, several cover ideas for fictitious magazines will be developed, scribbled, and immediately created in teams, following an intensive routine. You will gain first-hand experience in practical, condensed creative cork under positive time pressure and with directly visible results.
