Write/Speak/Code 2017 Conference

Aug 23 - 26, 2017 · Portland, United States of America

Write/Speak/Code is on a mission to empower women software developers and technologists to become thought leaders, conference speakers and open source contributors.

Write/Speak/Code leads an intense, four-day, hands-on conference, with personalized feedback sessions, panels, and talks by talented women and non-binary engineers. Attendees leave the conference with a blog post draft, talk proposal, and an open source project contribution.

This year our conference will be hosted at the Eliot Center in Portland, OR and runs from August 23rd - August 26th.

  • August 23rd - Write: Overcome imposter syndrome and own your expertise. Craft a bio that highlights your personal and professional accomplishments and practice sharing your unique perspective through writing.
  • August 24th - Speak: Write a conference talk proposal an receive feedback from conference organizers. Give a 10-min tech talk to supportive peers and mentors
  • August 25th - Code: Learn (or mentor on) the ins and outs of git, Github, and open source. Publish your own open source project or contribute to an existing one.
  • August 26th - Self Care & Career: Navigating the turbulence of the tech industry, prioritizing our own needs and professional development for a sustained and fulfilling career.

We aim to feature at least 50% women of color and 10% trans and non-binary speakers.

The Perks

All selected speakers will receive a free ticket to the conference. We’ll also be offering $100-250 honorariums based on talk format.

The deadline for submission is: April 23, 2017
