Test Driven Development (TDD) is a key practice to get into testing automation. Speed and quality for a cheaper price, who would pass on that? Some companies rush into the practice, but false assumptions on TDD lead them into to many traps:
- thinking it's a matter of tools and not skill to be learnt
- expecting systematic practice within a month, with 100% coverage
- managing it as a pet project blind to productivity concerns
- delegating the learning to a team apart from project developers
We believe it is crucial to dispel these assumptions as early as possible if you want to succeed your learning of TDD. We also believe that some hard truth are only discovered when experienced first hand.
The ambition of this workshop is to get you to try TDD by practice, then understand the real struggles, and spot the false assumptions, all this within an hour instead of months.
In a poetic way: seeing through the mirror of TDD.
This workshop requires only minimum coding skills, and eventually a couple of non coders are absolutely welcome. Knowing the dos and dont's of TDD is useful knowledge for everyone involved in testing.
One warning though: again, as we believe some truth can be understood only when trying it yourself, prepare to get your hands dirty.
