Talk title: The ultimate failing of banking
Katrina Elliott is based in Berlin as a product manager at Penta. She spent the last few years in London analysing thousands of mobile and online journeys from banks around the world. At Penta, she is part of the team building an effortless experience for one of the most interesting problems in fintech - banking for small businesses. Penta is using the power of simple UX to help save startups and entrepreneurs time on banking, so they can focus on what matters.
Abstract of her talk:
Most people reading this will touch an N26, Revolut or TransferWise product as part of their daily lives. But what gave these startups the chance at a foot in the door of a notoriously unwelcoming industry?... The failure of traditional banking UX.
These startups had no customers, scale, or money. But they did have better UX. And with it they built real, human solutions that touched people. During this presentation we’ll take a look at some great examples of how fintechs changed the digital financial landscape with delightful UX.…. allowing them to grow into the real competitors that they are today.
Talk title: A Fantastic Journey Through Experience Design or: How to be Irresistable.
Johannes Ippen is a designer and author from Berlin. He runs an Experience Design Studio and teaches UX and Information Architecture at Design Akademie Berlin.
Johannes has written several best-selling books about web- and app design, the most recent “Web Fatale” with a focus on irresistible websites.
The native Berliner likes French punk rock, well-designed infographics (preferably about food) and really strong espresso.
Abstract of his talk:
With over a billion digital products live at the end of 2017, it has become virtually impossible to stand out and attract customers and users. People’s expectations from websites and apps have risen – how to do them justice? Johannes Ippen takes you on a ride through the world of experience design, behavioral psychology and the rules of play can help to create better and eventually irresistable design products - and what we can learn from French lingerie, Swedish furniture stores & roller coasters.
