Simon Che de Boer is a renowned photogrammetrist and virtual reality content creator on the International stage. The founder of an R&D real-time VFX company known as realityvirtual.co - His real-world digitization of sites of cultural significance have spanned the globe. Such notable photogrammetry to VR experiences such as Nefertari's Tomb and artifacts across Egypt. Local experiences for indigenous Maori as well as Heritage projects.
Simon Che de Boer has personally received much recognition abroad for the level of quality in his experiences and such works have been commonly sighted as being the gold standard of photo-realistic real world encapsulations. NVIDIA / HTC / Epic Games have all featured the work of realityvirtual.co and many notable players of the VR industry commonly refer to such projects to demonstrate the potential of this new immersive medium.
Also Simon’s most recent works include bleeding-edge delighting and contextual physically based rendering deep learning techniques which will set the stage for a VFX automation revolution.
The short description of the talk is as follows:
SImon Che de Boer will be discussing the multiple use-cases for deep learning in the visual effects realm. The use of deep learning to extrapolate otherwise lost or difficult to acquisition data to aid restoration of culturally significant environments around the world. We'll span on super-sampling / super resolution techniques, image in-painting and more importantly the recend development of deep physically based rendering, otherwise known as deepPBR. A truly revolutionary tool in the VFX pipeline.
