Sean T. Allen: Wallaroo Golang API: Building Scale-independence Applications
Scaling an application can be somewhat tricky, the Wallaroo data processing engine is purpose-built to make this a whole lot easier.
In this talk, we will introduce you to Wallaroo, and it's Golang API. Wallaroo is an open-source data processing engine designed to take care of mechanics of scaling, resilience, state management, and message delivery.
Wallaroo's scale-independent API allows you to run your code on Wallaroo, across any number of servers whether on-premise or in the cloud. Your business logic is independent of scale and infrastructure, while Wallaroo is aware of the scale and infrastructure and takes care of all the "plumbing" for you.
In this talk we will:
* Introduce Wallaroo's Golang API
* See how Wallaroo's scale-independent API works
* Demo Golang code and Wallaroo's scale-independent APIs
Sean is VP of Engineering at Wallaroo Labs. His turn-ons include programming languages, distributed computing, Hiwatt amplifiers, and Fender Telecasters. His turn-offs include mayonnaise, stirring yogurt, and sloppy code. He is one of the authors of Storm Applied.
For capacity planning reasons, you must RSVP to be allowed by security into the building, and must have a valid photo ID. We'll be accepting registrations until space fills.
The event will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at Squarespace's office in the West Village, at 8 Clarkson St, 12th Floor. Doors open and food will be served at 6:30 PM, and talks start at 7:00 PM.
