Vue.js and Rails Job Search

Rails Job Search

We will search for remote web developer jobs on Craigslist. If you are comfortable with CSS, feel free to apply for Rails, Vue.js jobs. Start coding and get paid as you learn web development. I will be your mentor. I can pair with you and help you complete the project.

Before you attend this event, watch the 14 Tips For Job Searching on Craigslist :

Cover Letter Format

What to write in a cover letter

Add a formal salutation to the top of every cover letter. If possible, include the name of the supervisor. Otherwise, use a blanket greeting, such as “Dear Hiring Manager.”

Summary of Interest

Use the first paragraph to explain the job you’re applying to. State where you found the job, the name of the job, and why you want to apply.

Summary of Skills

Use the second and third paragraphs to summarize the skills and qualifications you have that make you a great fit. You can effectively highlight sections of your resume of which you’re particularly proud, and explain how they suit you for this position. However, don’t simply reiterate the “Objectives” section of your resume.

Thank the hiring manager for his or her time in the last paragraph and express your interest in speaking again.
Include your email address and phone number below the signature line in your cover letter.

Kids are running around every where here, so parking is a challenge. Come early to wait few minutes for someone to leave and grab a spot or park across the street (residential street parking).

Library Reservation

At least two people are required to be there on time. If we are late, the library will cancel the reservation.

Staying on Task

We will be focused on applying for remote jobs in many cities during this one hour period. Please take any discussion about your startups or other unrelated topics to meetups that are related to those topics. Let's not waste people's time.
