Hello, fellow Pythonistas!
No rest for the wicked...we are back already with the next edition of our meetup!
The link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to all attendees about half an hour before the meetup - RSVP at least an hour before the event in order to get the link.
◼︎ Jože Hladnik: Python for financial data
Jože is a scientist, project manager and free time Python enthusiast. He fell in love with Python for the sake of machine vision, but has so far mostly gotten into scientific data processing, in this case financial data.
His talk will cover:
▫︎ How to access real stock, crypto, and forex data
▫︎ Basic processing of data to get it human and Pandas readable
▫︎ Technical analysis and other indicators - some demo, some as references
▫︎ Basic trading strategy testing
◼︎ Nejc Zupan: Project isolation beyond requirements.txt
I’ve been a Python dev for almost 15 years now and I’ve recently completely overhauled how I keep my development tools and dependencies in check. I’m so happy with my new setup that I couldn’t wait to share it with fellow geeks!
We are still looking for lightning talks! If you are interested in giving a talk contact organisers or leave a comment here, we'll be glad to have you.
◼︎ Domagoj Korais: Pandera - statistical data validation for Pandas
Pandera provides a flexible and expressive API for performing data validation on tidy (long-form) and wide data to make data processing pipelines more readable and robust. Pandas data structures contain information that Pandera explicitly validates at runtime. This is useful in production-critical data pipelines or reproducible research settings.
◼︎ Uroš Lipovšek - Python documentation generation
Developers have love/hate relationship with documentation. The goal of my talk is to present some tools to make it easier for developers. I will finish my talk with actual example using Gitlab CI/CD for generating documentation and AWS for cost effective hosting solution.
See you soon!
