Ultracode Munich #2 : Android apps on x86 microprocessor

Jun 5, 2013 · München, Germany

Hi Ultracoderzz,

Here is the 2nd edition of the Ultracode Munich! As we had nice feedback & interest from the 1st edition, we decided to go for another one on Wednesday June 5th @ Werk1 Müenchen, a very cool new coworking space near Ostbahnhof dedicated to digital minds!

Along the same organizing team, this Intel meetup will be focused on Android app development on Intel phone powered with x86 microprocessor. As usual, we will start with a main talk followed by community talks then beer & pizza.

19:00 - Opening

19:30 - Introduction by Sulamita Garcia (@sulagarcia)

19:35 - "The current status of x86 Intel powered phones" by Alexander Weggerle, Intel Technical Consulting Engineer for software development tools, and Xavier Hallade, Intel Technical Engineer :

Discover the current status of x86 Intel powered phones (Orange San Diego, Megafon, Xolo, Lenovo K800) in the world-wide market and get an insight into future products. Also learn how the future developments, impact a developer's life, what Intel does to speed up development with tools & support as well as enriching UX.

- 45min : Duo presentation & brainstorming on what action you need to take with your existing Android apps to get them running on x86 Intel powered phones - and if you need to do anything at all!

- 30min : Showcase and demo with the audience of exciting tools that Intel offer to speed up your development cycle, helping you to optimize your application & tools that allow you squeeze out the last percentage of performance out of your app

- 10min : Q&A

21:00 - Beer & Pizza break then demos on Android Phones, tablets & Ultrabooks

21:30 - "Community talks", come and show-off your apps, hacks and other work-in-progress about HTML5, Android & Win8 development in 10min :

- Kevin will talk about bringing an existing interactive HTML5/JS charting tool to a native Android app using a custom OpenGL renderer on top of V8

- Thomas will talk about an HTML5/JS app running on a raspberry pi with NodeJS Express & SQLite as server backend using AngularJS & Twitter Bootstrap as frontend (unfortunately Thomas cannot do it, we are looking for another speaker to replace him :)

- Shaileen will present us an Android Game based on AndEngine and OpenGL

If you are developer, feel free to join us!

We'll also tell you more about the Perceptual Computing workshop and hacknight we organize in Munich for C/C++, C#, Unity, openFramework, Processing, openGL and Augmented reality developers. Join us for this exciting 24 hours hack to build in team or alone innovative app/game using gesture recognition on June 22-23th!
