TOPIC:  Performance Troubleshooting in 3 Acts
SPEAKER:  Jared Poche, Microsoft

In this session, we’ll review tools and methods for gather data for performance tuning

Attendees will gain an understanding of how to configure, run, and interpret output from PSSDiag
Attendees will see several DMV queries that can provide useful data instantly
Attendees will hear a discussion of XEvents, which will replace the deprecated Profiler tool


Jared Poche is a Sr. Support Escalation Engineer for Microsoft. Jared has been a FTE for Microsoft for 7 years and worked as a contractor previously. He has been working with SQL Server since 2002, when he taught classes on SQL Server at a community college. His primary areas of focus are Performance and the SQL Server Engine. He has several certifications in addition to Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Appalachian State University.
