One of the great things about working in software engineering is the new technology that emerges every day. We enjoy higher levels of productivity, functionality, performance, and security than we ever have before. Then again, one of the intimidating things about working in software engineering is the new technology that emerges every day. With personal and professional pressures all around, there is little time to become an expert in anything before the ground shifts beneath our feet and we need to learn something new to stay marketable.
Neil Chaudhuri will explore major trends in Software Engineering that you should know so you can be prepared for the themes that will dominate in the coming years and develop a competitive advantage for yourself and your organization.
Bio: Neil Chaudhuri is the President of Vidya, where he builds custom software applications and consults for commercial and government clients utilizing modern--sometimes bleeding edge-- technologies in the web, mobile, and big data domains. He also teaches training courses in Scrum, Java, and Apache Spark focused less on memorization and theory and more on real-world problem solving. Neil believes as strongly in the art of software engineering and building things the right way as he does in technology itself.
