The UK and the Netherlands share similar challenges with regard to social cohesion and The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has been keen to support the delivery of practical projects and policy discussions to help address the issue. This event aims to develop that work by engaging with and building networks between civil society organisations working in the sport for development sector in the Netherlands and the UK.
The seminar consists of a series of keynote presentations, practical demonstrations andworkshops as well as networking opportunities. It will:
• Bring together practitioners, policy makers and administrators from the Netherlands and UK with an interest in sport for development
• Share and develop best practice in the sport for development sector• Showcase ‘exhibitions’ of sport and social cohesion work• Foster ongoing bilateral learning, development and exchange
The event places a particular focus on the role played by civil society organisations in delivering sport based community development and cohesion and how approaches adopted in the Netherlands might be applied in the UK.
