Lucas Spangher, former data scientist at ARPA-E, will present statistical work he performed on a team at ARPA-E that formed the basis for an upcoming $30 million program in long duration storage. He will describe the model structure and interpretation that led to support a conclusion that battery durations of 30+ hours is crucial for renewable energy integration.
