Aug 14, 2017 · Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel

The Joys of MicroServices - Docker Swarm and JavaScript Performance.

In this installment, we are going to dive deeper. In the first part, Dima will cover JavaScript performance in Node.js and browser. In the second part, Omer will show how we use Docker Swarm in production to run our Node.js-based MicroServices, and, of course, there will be beer and pizza.

Agenda:

18:00 - Gathering

18:30 - 19:25 - "JavaScript Performance: Node, Browser and all all all" - Dmitry Nutels

19:25 - 19:30 - Break

19:30 - 20:25 - "Running Swarm in production @NI" - Omer Haim, Sun Dery

JavaScript Performance: Node, Browser and all all all - Dmitry Nutels

With JavaScript becoming more and more ubiquitous, our ability to monitor, trace and analyze its performance has become crucially important. In this talk we'll take an in-depth look at how V8 JavaScript engine (both in Node and browser) processes JavaScript, discuss ways to monitor and trace this processing and dive into tooling and debugging techniques associated with JavaScript memory consumption and execution performance.

Dmitry Nutels is a System Architect with a passion for Web. He is fortunate enough to work, both at his job @ Natural Intelligence and in his spare time, on projects that vary from Node applications architecture and development practices, to client-side React, Redux, and SCSS with Webpack, as well as application deployment and serving optimization. He also aims to fill the role of a knowledge hub on all things UX/Web/Node and believes in sharing that knowledge.

Running Docker Swarm in production @NI - Omer Haim, Sun Dery

Running containers in production using Docker, Docker swarm and Amazon autoscale in Natural Intelligence production.

Omer Haim is a husband, father and tech enthusiast. A DevOps consultant, he is the founder of Minerva Prime. His everyday work reflects what he loves most: helping companies fulfill their infrastructure requirements. Omer enjoys solving problems and learning as much as he can. He has been working for Natural Intelligence on its complex micro services environments for the past 2 years.

Sun Dery has a passion for Infrastructure. An experienced DevOps Engineer and DBA, grew up in the IDF. Today at NI builds better and more reliant infrastructures to help with performance and CI/CD pipelines. Sun likes to automate solutions and enable developers to achieve their max potential with tools such as AWS Lambda, Jenkins and of course Docker. He has been working for Natural Intelligence on its complex micro services environments since early 2016.
