The High-Cost of Being On-Time
How do we measure success on a software project? My experience shows that a focus on schedule and cost performance can actually lead to increased costs (and longer schedules). Why is that? I'll share my own stories and what the academic research has to say about project estimation and team productivity. I'll then share results from a portfolio management experiment that we ran with three teams to increase the ROI from our software development.
