Interested in a career in Data?
The Data School might just be the dream job you didn't realise existed. Opening in June 2022, we will recruit eight people every four months. We're looking for intelligent, friendly people who are open to new ideas and to learning new concepts. We specialize in two market leading tools - Tableau (data visualization) and Alteryx (data preparation).

What will the event involve?
A chance to meet and chat with Data School New York Head Coaches (and Tableau Zen Masters) Ann Jackson and Andy Kriebel. They will also run a hands-on introduction to Tableau as a tool for data analysis and visualisation where you will have the opportunity to create a Tableau dashboard to share on Tableau Public.

As part of the Data School application process, we look at your Tableau Public profile, and ask you to build a new Tableau Dashboard, so this event is perfect for anyone who wants to start, or add to, their Tableau Public profile. We are repeating this session across multiple dates and times, and each session will use a different data set. Attend multiple sessions to build multiple dashboards!

Do I need to have any technical skills to attend this event?
No, you only need your laptop with either Tableau Desktop or Tableau Public installed (you can get a free 14 day trial of Tableau here, or download the totally free version of Tableau Public here. If you're a student you can get a free 1 year licence of Tableau through Tableau for Students). We will cover the basics - how to connect to a dataset and what the first steps are - so no previous knowledge of Tableau is necessary.

What is The Data School?
The Data School was founded in 2015 by The Information Lab to produce the next generation of data visualization experts. Data visualization skills are in huge demand across a wide array of industries - we have already trained almost three hundred Data School Consultants in the UK, Australia and Germany and we have now opened an office in New York!
It's a 28 month program comprising of an initial four month training period, followed by four six month placements. It is fully paid throughout, we are offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
