Summer is (almost) over and The Azure Group is back to the grind with another meetup coming up on Wednesday, September 13th.

Topic: Azure Functions and the Serverless World 

Serverless is one of the big new buzzwords in the tech industry. With Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Google and more all adding serverless event driven platforms and features to their public cloud offerings this emerging technology is more relevant than ever. 

Presenter: Jesse Carter 

Jesse Carter is a passionate developer and lover of all things Azure. He enjoys staying on the cutting edge of cloud technologies and writing elegant code. He currently works as a software architect for Diply.com, one of the highest traffic sites in North America. 

Jesse Carter will discuss Microsoft's offering in this space in the form of Azure Functions. You will see first hand how quick and easy it is to get your first serverless function running in the cloud and then cover some more advanced topics and scenarios:

- Patterns for building servlerless apps

- The power of webhook integration and slack commands

- Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment options to make your functions production ready
