TechCityinsider is producing a half-day event that brings leading investors together with tech entrepreneurs to share their funding stories in a compelling interactive format.
The event is designed for entrepreneurs looking for advice from investors and other tech founders who have successfully funded their businesses.
In two immersive sessions key players from the VC, private equity, angel, banking and crowdfunding sectors will come together with a cross-section of tech entrepreneurs to discuss issues central to the funding debate.
Keynote speakers will set up our two debates, providing perspective on the big issues.
Investor keynote: Sherry CoutuSenior investor Sherry Coutu will provide a keynote from an investor's perspective, highlighting the key issues that need to be addressed in moving from startup to scale-up.
Sherry is a former CEO and angel investor who serves on the boards of companies, charities and universities. She chairs Founders4Schools and is a non-executive member of Cambridge University (finance board), Cambridge Assessment, Cambridge University Press and a NED of Zoopla and the London Stock Exchange Group. She also serves on the advisory board of Linkedin.com. As an angel investor, she works with entrepreneurs to solve problems that matter and specialises in consumer internet, information services and education. She has made angel investments in more than 50 companies and holds investments in two venture capital firms.
Entrepreneur keynote: George BerkowskiSharing his lessons on how to fund a tech business, serial entrepreneur George Berkowski will outline how to generate finance across the different stages of growth.
George has built businesses in manned space flight, online dating, transportation and mobile apps. He is one of the minds behind the internationally successful taxi app Hailo, where he led the product team until September 2013. George studied rocket science and economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and business at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris. He was chairman of MIT’s Enterprise Forum in the UK and is heavily involved in the UK and US startup scenes. George now divides his time between London and Silicon Valley.
