From Empathic Design To Content Leadership
Valérie Bourdeau | Niko
Over the last 10 years, design has gained strategic importance, design thinking has become the norm in many fields outside R&D such as product management, sales or even strategic planning. None of this has any meaning without the thorough understanding of the customers’ needs (a concept which has become known as ‘empathic design’), and the notion that all business efforts should be based on these. However, empathic design is only a starting point, I have experienced that it is essential to develop a common company mentality to really make it work.
I am fascinated by human interaction and am an advocate of the importance of User Experience, in interfaces, services and products alike. Customer experiences should be innovative and fulfilling, but should mainly fortify the meaning customers give to their relationship with their provider. Customer empathy is key. I am a team player who thoroughly enjoys the analysis of challenges and the conception of relevant solutions and am thrilled every time a concept "comes together".
Choose Your Battles
David Morgan | Namahn
The biggest decisions in projects are often made at the start, when knowledge is at its lowest. This can take projects in incorrect directions, and cause bottlenecks later on. In this talk, David share's his way of designing digital products and how he uses his tools to learn quickly and to be adaptive throughout a project.
David works as a Senior UX Designer for Namahn, a human-centered design consultancy in Brussels. Most of his time he works on improving the user experience of Sony Europe's e-commerce, online support and community platforms. He also created and teaches Namahn’s Mobile Design course.
As a self-professed workflow nerd, he compulsively questions the way he works and collaborates
Our initial 45 seats were filled pretty fast but our friends at Start it gave us an upgrade on the house. We are now capable of receiving 80 passionate product people. Be fast and reserve your seat!
