Join members of the Symfony, PHP and eZ Publish community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for an evening of networking and discussion. We will kick off the meetup with two great talks from two big Symfony users and contributors!
• André Romcke - "Perfect" caching with FOSHttpCache
At eZ we have been lucky to work with so many talented developers in the PHP and Symfony community, and one of the many projects we have so far contributed to and also benefitted from is FOSHttpCache. A super charged Http Cache implementation with tagging of content, varying of cache by user cache, support for Varnish, Symfony Proxy and Nginx, and much more. But it can still be improved, multi tagging support for Symfony Proxy, and Stale cache handling on purges by tags are two currently missing features for handling all possible high load situations while also being easy to use. Talk builds upon previous talk: Going crazy with HTTP caching - SymfonyLive Paris 2015
• Bernhard Schussek (the guy behind Symfony Forms, yes!) - Puli: PHP's Next Package Revolution Puli is a new PHP technology for building universal packages that can easily be plugged into any project. These packages use and discover each other automatically, without additional configuration.
In your enterprise projects, you can use Puli to build powerful plugin systems. But Puli's consequences are far greater: By unifying "bundles", "modules" and "extensions" of different frameworks, Puli has the potential to radically change the PHP community...
If anyone else want to bring a topic, please feel free to suggest in the comment below. We could have room for a 3rd talk. If not, we suggest to end the day with some social time in one of the many sweet spots around the Wythe hotel around a beer, eventually from the Brooklyn Brewery across the street.
After the meetup we will head over to Brooklyn Bowl for networking, food and drinks.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
