Supercharging Your Developer Toolbox with Elixir

Jul 18, 2017 · Zürich, Switzerland

Elixir is a dynamic and functional language designed for building scalable and maintainable applications. Moreover, Elixir leverages the Erlang VM, known for running low-latency, distributed and fault-tolerant systems, while also being successfully used in web development and the embedded software domain.

The speaker Mateusz Sojka is a software engineer working at Swisscom and co-founder of a podcast hosting service called Podigee. Since he got interested in Elixir he hasn't looked back. During his talk, Mateusz is going to list and explain the main features of Elixir, the Erlang VM and OTP. He'll present Phoenix, the web framework, and Nerves, a platform for embedded programming. If those names don't make any sense to you right now - they will after the talk!

  • Pantalks - tech & non-tech talks @ Colab Zürich

Pantalks, initiated by Panter employees in 2010, began as a small community Meetup where individuals looking to exchange knowledge, tech and non-tech, could connect and share their insights. Today, with over a thousand Meetup Members and more than 90 Pantalks hosted, the community has grown into a meaningful network. Once a month we host an intriguing talk with fresh from the field insights and engaging discussion over snacks and drinks— we'd love for you to join us! Shortlink to our website: www.pantalks.
