This time we'll meet at the beautiful Sqore office! Big thanks for having us! We will have two speakers this evening. The schedule will look something like this:
18:00 Doors open and mingle
18:30 First talk!
20:00 Hang around - talk to strangers!
We will let people on the waiting list in from 18:15 if there is space.
My talk will be all about the ES2015 classes, but focused on how it's implemented. I'll take you on a journey from the good old days of ES5 functions as classes, prototype inheritance and how the syntax evolved into the classes of today. Hopefully after this talk you'll not only be able to use them, but also understand it's limitation and expressive nature.
Following a degree in Music Computing from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and Spotify's acquisition of Soundwave, a social music app I worked at, I moved to Stockholm in January 2016 to work as a backend developer at Spotify.
This talk will introduce the Web Audio API for developers who haven't used it before, and will contextualise the design of the API in the history of the design of music computing systems. I'll show some examples of audio synthesis, audio visualisation, and music production in the web, and answer your questions!
