Session 1: Choosing a Static Site Generator
Brian Rinaldi (@remotesynth) shows us how to build websites quickly that don’t need state/database with static site generators. Brian is an author of the upcoming O’Reilly book, Working with Static Sites, and has years and years of experience building and teaching.
If you’re new to web development, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn a powerful new asset. If you’ve used static generators before, you’ll either learn a lot about your favorite or discover a new one. You won’t want to miss this!
Session 2: Check it Out
After Brian’s talk, we’ll open up the floor to anybody who wants to show us what you’re working on! Whether it’s something you’ve been fiddling with, or a tool you found, or just a really awesome website you want the group to pick apart, we’ll be having a free-for-all show-and-tell at the end of tomorrow.
March Meetup Recap
Krisha did an amazing job speaking about React, and you can catch more of him at Orlando Code Camp. Afterwards, we tried out a new thing where we opened the floor for any and all coding questions. We were planning on 5–10 minutes, and it quickly turned into 30 minutes of non-stop discussion! The people last night loved the open discussion, so we’ll be sure to do it again real soon. I’m scared to have it every month because it might become too routine; maybe every other month? Every 3 months? Let us know if you have any thoughts on this.
See you guys in April!
