This month StartLabs brings you David Kadavy and Andy Angelos for a talk and a Q&A session!
David Kadavy is author of the #18 Amazon best-selling book, Design for Hackers: Reverse-Engineering Beauty. Prior to writing Design for Hackers, David founded the Design departments at two Silicon Valley startups, and freelanced for clients such as oDesk, PBworks, and UserVoice. David will talk about how to make quick wins and how to avoid common design pitfalls so your design would get better, and about how simple design can work for you at times.
Andy Angelos started working for media focused technology startups in 2006. He refers to his occupation as information zealotry, which makes him the world's first information zealot. Andy sold his most recent company, SocialKaty, to a cool experience design firm called Manifest. His talk will be about "Shortcuts for people who hate shortcuts" in which he will describe how he watched hundreds of entrepreneurs (including himself) favor operational and marketing shortcuts for quick gains that ultimately resulted in more work and how to go around that.
After the talks there will be a Q&A session, and after that a jazz concert at KC Grad at which you are welcome to stay and mingle.
See you there!
