• Hard coded inspection packet length limit – easily bypassed by the attacker just padding the attack.
• Not inspecting outbound traffic – sometimes the best place to spot an attack.
• Allowing outbound error messages from the web server – giving an attacker information necessary to iterate an attack.
• Administration interfaces that encourage you to disable groups of signatures and lower your security protection.
