Using New Relic to discover the top 3 performance anti-patterns Bill Kayser, Distinguished Engineer, New Relic@bravoking
In this talk I'll will cover how to discover the three most common performance problems in web applications using New Relic APM. Plus I'll give you insider tips on how to leverage lesser known features to gain a better understanding of how your applications are performing.
Close the Loop: Give Your App InsightsEric Peterson, Sr. Web Developer, Tableau@iamEAP
With New Relic Insights, we can analyze—in real time—the way in which users interact with our application. By giving it a little extra data, we can track goals, conversion, and segment across user taxonomies. Data-driven organizations arm analysts and business users with data like this to help decide how to optimize and delight users. But have you thought about arming your application with this data and allowing it to make some of those decisions for you?
In this talk, we'll discuss deep integration between Insights and our app (in this case, Drupal), some nifty advantages we gain as a result, and some examples of how we've used Insights data to better tailor end users' experiences.
Monitor all the Things!! Kevin McGuire, Director of Engineering, New Relic@KevinMcGUI
You already use New Relic to monitor your applications, but if infrastructure elements like your database or F5 switch are misbehaving, your end-user experience will be affected. New Relic Platform gives you that needed visibility. There are over 120 published plugins available to you, and writing your own is easy.
All New Relic users and fans are welcome! For more New Relic events in Seattle, be sure to check out our page on Meetup and keep an eye on the hashtag #NewRelicUG.
Thank you to our friends at Alert Logic for hosting!
