tl;dr: submit a great talk at scale.bythebay.io by 5/31!
Scale By the Bay is the next iteration of the legendary Scala By the Bay, to be held for the fifth consecutive year this November. We added a Big Data Scala track in 2015, and added the Latin character æ in 2016, for Scalæ, to indicate the inclusivity of Scala (a Scalable Language) with other (seriously useful) languages in the wider context of big-scale end-to-end data pipelines, thoughtful software engineering with functional programming, and the emergence of the MIND stack for AI/ML to be run on the SMACK stack as the foundation of choice.
This year, we are happy to open the CFP for Scale By the Bay as the pinnacle of open-source, community-centric conferences and meetups By the Bay. As before, it is a shared event for the community numbering about 50,000 developers, data scientists, founders, hands-on executives, smart-money VCs, and technology enthusiasts from the Bay Area and around the world. We'll run Data By the Bay at Scale By the Bay this year as well, since we did AI in the Spring. We welcome talks connecting data engineering and data science, and having code or data is a must -- we're light on product pitches or sales, and heavy on "show me money" ones.
Please submit a really good talk by May 31, as the competition will be fierce. Acceptance notifications June 15. Conference mid-November, dates will follow. Good luck submitting and hope to see your talk in November at Scale!
