ScalaIDE & scala.meta Hackathon

Feb 12, 2016 · Kraków, Poland

Hello Hackathoners!

Scala IDE is open source, free community application available for everyone for years and everyone can make it better. All you have to do is just to start committing. To tempt you a little bit we try to implement "Organize imports" feature for imports found in the class blocks, all in 2 hours of coding. Simply speaking we want to this snippet:
class A {   import x.y.z.A  import a.b.c.T
  ... } turn into class A {  import a.b.c.T  import x.y.z.A
  ... } with ctrl+shift+o. By accident only we will get acquaintance with Trees and Symbols in Scala. As every marathoner needs good trainers and nutriments so Scala IDE hackathoner needs:
1. our trainers so Eclipse for Committers  with installed Scala IDE  (setup description can be found here:  http://scala-ide.org/docs/dev/setup/setup.html, but you can download Eclipse from here:  http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-eclipse-committers-451/mars1   and install Scala IDE nightly from here:  http://download.scala-ide.org/nightly-scala-ide-luna-211x ) and sbt tool (we will use console too)
2. and food so code. Please fork the scala-refactoring (https://github.com/scala-ide/scala-refactoring) and try to build it with sbt and import it into Eclipse.

See you then!
