SacJS is excited to announce our 11th meetup on Tuesday, November 24th at The Urban Hive on H & 20th St.
This month, we're pleased to welcome Ben Ilegbodu from Eventbrite! Just back from speaking at Nodevember and on his way out to FOSSETCON, Ben will be showing us how not to use Javascript!
In his talk, Ben will show us ways to build interactivity in JavaScript and see how we can transform them into more optimal solutions using plain old HTML and CSS. We’ll discuss CSS3 transitions & animations, new HTML5 attributes, and other “tricks” to offload JavaScript functionality to the browser’s rendering engine for more performant web applications.
SacJS expects all speakers and attendees to follow our Code of Conduct.
In addition to Ben, anyone who wants to speak at the end of our meetup will have a chance during our 15-seconds of Fame segment. Its a fun and easy way to shake off any reservations you may have about public speaking. We would love to hear from you so start thinking about what you'd like to say!
We will also have time to meet-and-greet after the event.
Food will be provided by our sponsor TEKSystems (thanks Chelsea!) and liquid refreshments will be provided by the Rocket Department (thanks Emma!)
Free Street parking is widely available in the surrounding area.
Please DO NOT park in the private gravel lot adjacent to The Urban Hive or you might get towed!
If you would also like to sponsor or speak at one of our events, please contact us on GitHub, Twitter, #sacjs on the #SacTech Slack Team, or Meetup.com. Remember, we love sharing any ideas that come from our Sacramento tech community. If you have a non-technical talk, that's ok! We'd love to have you anyway!
Lastly, don't forget to follow us on Twitter (@sac_js). Not on Twitter? Join the fun!
