Last year Alma Berliner, from Ipsos MORI, gave a masterclass on Ethnography. It was our fastest selling event and the one that we received most requests to rerun. So we're absolutely delighted that she's back with her colleague Helle Thorsen to give another masterclass on the elusive but essential concept of culture.
As if that wasn't enough we're being hosted by one of our favourite partners in crime, the whip-smart agency Adaptive Lab, who we're cooking up a series of events for later in the year. There will be a chance to find out a little more about them too.
Culture underpins almost everything we say, think and do. But we don’t tend to talk about it much when it comes to research or design. Is it just a bit too abstract to explore and or a bit too dull to bore others with?

They will talk about what ‘culture’ really means and the purpose of researching culture. Using past project examples and video exercises, they will show you how to examine material with a cultural lens.
Helle Thorsen and Alma Berliner work on a specialist team of ethnographers at Ipsos MORI. With a background in anthropology – visual anthropology in particular – culture is part and parcel of their approach to ethnographic research. They work across different sectors, from healthcare to FMCG, applying ethnographic and cultural principles to all projects they run.
