🎤 Make Your Life Simpler With These React Patterns
Lucas Reis (https://www.linkedin.com/in/lucas-reis-773a4b38/)

I've been writing React applications for a few years now, and I've noticed that successful code tends to use the same simple patterns. I'll summarize them in this talk, so you can simplify your own code and understand the reasoning behind some choices in the libraries you use every day!

🎤 Observables as a Progressive Enhancement for Redux Thunk
Ian Stewart (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ian-stewart-9bbb0411/)

In this talk, we will examine an alternative to a full side effect layer (Redux Saga, Redux Observable, etc) and demonstrate how to use pure actions and dead simple async/await Thunks to build 90% of an application, then employ a subset of Observables as a slim action orchestration layer. This drastically simplifies an architecture by relying on more sophisticated tools only for scenarios that truly require it.

🎤 Functional Programming Fundamentals
Matthew Gerstman (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattgerstman/)

In the past few years, React and Redux have generated a surge of Functional and Declarative Programming which we often take for granted. However many of us never got a chance to learn the fundamentals. In this talk, we’ll discuss the fundamentals of Functional Programming and how they apply to modern JavaScript. We’ll cover immutability, separation of concerns, and composability. We’ll avoid unnecessary jargon like monads and functors and stick to concepts that will make our code better.
