ReactJS

• What we'll do
Our first meetup of the year. A bit belated but we're back! And in a new location!

As with all beginnings, an introduction to React will be front & center. What it is and how you can start using it today. The concept of using components as building blocks to anything web related is liberating as well as challenging. Wrapping our problem solving skills to take advantage of this methodology has given us fine control over our views, state management & async calls.

We'll cover an intro to React and then quickly move into spinning up a development flow with Webpack. For the more advanced developers we'll introduce a functional pipeline perspective with React + Redux, a really great way to leverage the power and flexibility of our tool belt with a functional architecture pattern.

We're community driven. If there is a particular topic that you want to see presented let us know and we'll find the right experts to deliver. Questions and comments and presentations are always welcomed! Help us build this FrontEnd!

The schedule:
6.00 - 6.15 = a little networking, eating/drinking
6.15 - 7.00 = Presentations
7.00 - 8.00 = Coding Fun & Q/A

  • Downtown ReactJS Meetup

There are some ReactJS meetups but don't seem to be consistently active. We plan on doing monthly presentations and hacking, and every once in a while a workshop. We want this meetup to be the place where you can learn, teach and show off your latest project. We want to encourage curiosity, creativity and share knowledge on building the Web. We are not only focusing on ReactJS per se but the whole ecosystem that ReactJS touches: Webpack, ES6, Babel, Redux, Flux, JSX, React Native, Docker, nginx, Nodejs, H
