Data Visualization in Python

Sep 28, 2019 · Norcross, United States of America

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Data visualization is the discipline of trying to understand data by placing it in a visual context so that patterns, trends and correlations that might not otherwise be detected can be exposed.

In this hands-on workshop, we are going to start with reviewing some good data visualization examples, as well as some popular visualization tools. The main focus is to learn several python visualization tools.

Python offers multiple great graphing libraries that come packed with lots of different features. No matter if you want to create interactive, live or highly customized plots python has an excellent library for you.

Physicist turned data scientist, Mengshu Liu has a PhD in condensed matter physics from the University of Tennessee. She is currently working for Careerbuilder on the Data Science R&D team, where she uses NLP and various recommender systems to match the right person with the right job. She is a big enthusiast in data visualization.

( $10 in cash will be collected at event to cover venue cost. Coffee, tea, and snacks included)
