PyData Zurich: Bayes, bayes, bayes

Jul 25, 2017 · Zürich, Switzerland

PyData Zurich is back! (ETH room F33.5 at 7pm 25 July)

The next meetup will feature the following two 20minute talks (one slot still available):

Joerg Herbel - Approximate Bayesian Inference

Joerg is an astronomer and will tell us about simulating images and approximate bayesian computation (he promises that it is easy as ABC...) in the context of cosmology.

Tim Head - scikit-optimize, how to optimise anything

Tim will talk about http://scikit-optimize.github.io a python package for bayesian optimisation. It solves the problem of finding the optimum of very expensive, noisy, black box functions (for example hyper-parameter optimisation or beer recipes).

If you'd like to give a short 15-20min talk get in touch.

After the meetup we will go for a drink somewhere near by.
