Ptolemy, Plato and my Wife - Alignment and Sense Making at Scale
Agile has brought the concept of autonomous cross-functional teams in the spotlight. And lately, Spotify has become famous for having evolved an organisation around autonomous squads, that have full lifecycle autonomy on a product. But this autonomy requires alignment between squads or as Henrik Kniberg says: “The stronger alignment we have, the more autonomy we can afford to grant".
In our organisations, how can we achieve this clarity, not only of purpose, but also of strategies and culture ? We need to collectively make sense of our individual experiences, across all organisation levels, from changes in our external environment to concrete behaviours. In this talk, you will discover 3 key practices that you can experiment with to support this sense-making and enable alignment at scale.
A little bit about Thomas:
Thomas helps teams foster focus, creativity & adaptability to launch products that matter. Having seen his share of effective and not quite effective patterns in IT teams and organisations, he helps build bridges (between people) and hunts elephants (in the room).
