Building High-Performance, Asynchronous, Concurrent Applications with ZIO
ZIO is a new standalone library for building high-performance Scala applications that perform asynchronous and concurrent operations without leaking threads or other resources.
ZIO comes with a data type called IO, which represents a task that produces a value, and the data type comes with powerful operations like safely acquiring and releasing resources, running tasks in parallel, racing tasks, forking tasks to run on green threads, interrupting forked tasks whose results are no longer needed, and joining forked tasks.
With an interop package for Future and Cats Effect, ZIO comes fully ready to go, for painless deployment into new and existing code bases.
In this all-new workshop, John A. De Goes, architect of the ZIO library, will teach you about ZIO’s effect type (IO), including how to reason about purely functional libraries like ZIO, how to build programs out of IO values, and how to solve a variety of common problems in asynchronous and concurrent programming.
Claim the event and start manage its content.
