PDM 2018 - Ghent #1

Apr 26, 2018 · Gent, Belgium

Hi Designers!

We're happy to announce the first Product Design Meetup of 2018:
The event will take place on the 26th of April in the Oude Vismijn in Ghent.

We have 3 truly amazing speakers lined up for this edition and will be sharing more info soon.
As always, the event is completely free, as is our open bar where you can have a few drinks and practice your networking-skills after the presentations.

Places are limited, so RSVP quickly ;)

SPEAKER #1: Vlad Shvets

Vlad is co-founder and CMO @ Phase - design software startup that's reinventing digital design. Phase 1.0 is going to see the world in the early summer of 2018. Vlad is going to demonstrate the exclusive demo of Phase, and tell us more about the product roadmap and the team behind it.

SPEAKER #2: Arne Van Kauter

Arne is a creative developer with a background in graphic design, originally from a small farmer town near Ghent, but currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark.
After graduating at the University of West Flanders, he started as an intern at Hello Monday in New York, but moved to Aarhus and later Copenhagen to fulfil a full time position as creative developer at Hello Monday.
At Hello Monday he has been working for a range of clients from all over the world: from Google, Youtube, Essential and Nasa to National Geographic and Bang & Olufsen.

He will be talking about his role in the design process, from conceptual thinking to the final delivery of front and back end development.

SPEAKER #3 David Bailey

In 2013 David joined the BBC as Creative Director of the organisation’s Global Experience Language, (GEL). His team facilitate and publish the ongoing development of their shared design framework which underpins the design of the BBC’s entire online output.

BBC User Experience & Design (UX&D) create the layer of interaction that sits between the BBC’s online content and it’s users. Like it’s audience, the BBC’s portfolio of digital services is as large as it is diverse. Thus, UX&D adopt a human-centered design approach that responds to the needs, wants and limitations of each product’s end user.
