The coordinators will be teaching and showing off hardware hacking, simple DIY electronics projects, and programming tutorials. We will also help newcomers to Linux learn the ropes of getting around.
Coordinators Robert Menes and David Bristow will be teaching Amazon Web Services (AWS) basics, which include spinning your own EC2 instance and a small introduction to S3.
Bring something to discuss! We've been focusing on LaTeX, Python, Smalltalk, and using Linux, but were open to anything. There's a blackboard, chalk, and Internet access. Notebook computers are helpful but not required. Bring books! Bring hardware! Bring software! Bring friends! All levels of experience from totally new to experienced welcome!
After workshops, the coordinators go out for dinner at Out of the Kitchen, located at 420 Hudson Street, just down the block from the library. Feel free to join us for some lively dinner conversations!
It is helpful, but not necessary to have a notebook computer. If you would like to work on hardware hacking or electronics, feel free to bring equipment. There's WiFi in the library for your convenience.
