November 2017: Terraform for Azure Automation and Infrastructure as Code

Nov 29, 2017 · Sydney, Australia

A big benefit of moving to cloud platforms is the opportunity to automate the provisioning and management of your infrastructure. In our main session this month we are joined by Ned Shawa from Hashicorp who is going to run us through their Terraform offering and how you can use it to manage your assets in Azure.

Did you know you can use Terraform directly out of the Azure Cloud Shell?

Our schedule for the evening currently looks like this:

Doors open at 5:45pm with food served at 6:00pm

1. What's new in Azure  - Simon Waight - 6:00 - 6:15pm.

2. Terraform for Azure Automation and Infrastructure as Code - Ned Shawa (Hashicorp) 6.15 - 7.30.

3. Q&A and general catch up till 8:00pm.

We will also cover HashiCorp Vault, and how vault manages secrets for cloud deployments, SSH access, database access..etc Vault API access has made automating secure secret exchange across the cloud easily done via integrating it in the CI/CD pipeline.
