Talk: "Up close to the Rijksmuseum"
A few months before the opening of the renovated museum, the brand new website of the Rijksmuseum was launched at the end of 2012. The new website aims to encourage visitors to discover the great art collection on a tablet or laptop. 'Tablet First' was one of the key principles in the design of rijksmuseum.nl. The responsive website is optimized for use on iPad and tablet: simple, with clear buttons and interactions.
"Rijksstudio" is a special part of the website. Visitors can download 125,000 artwork images in high resolution, create their own art collections, zoom in on artwork and cut and print parts on canvas, laptop bags or even a car. That's all possible now with the "Rijksstudio".
