Topic: Java Road Trip: Code to Coast Free refreshments and beer before and after the meeting! (starts at 6:30pm) Featured Speakers: Note last min change: Octavian Tanase, vice president, Java platforms group will NOT be able to make the meeting due to a family emergency. In his place we have our special guests speaking on JavaFX: Eric Bruno is a Principal Sales Consultant at Oracle, and best selling author on Java and other software development topics. He's lectured as a guest at MIT, and helped numerous banks and financial exchanges with their research involving real-time Java. He is also a contributing editor for Dr. Dobbs Journal with countless articles to his name, and he writes their online Java blog. He is the author of three books: Real-Time Java Programming with Java RTS (Pearson 2009), JavaFX: Developing Rich Internet Applications (Pearson 2009), and Java Messaging (Cengage 2005) Jim Connors, a Principal Sales Consultant at Oracle, has spent the last dozen years helping customers further utilize Java technology ranging from Java Card and Java Micro Edition through to Java Enterprise Edition. His current focus involves providing software solutions to Sunís embedded market, including real-time Java, Solaris, and most recently JavaFX. Jim has twenty-five yearsí experience in systems software development including stints as a compiler developer for both the C and ADA programming languages. Along with Jim Clarke and Eric Bruno, Jim developed and demonstrated one of the first applications utilizing JavaFX Script back at JavaONE 2007.
