Welcome back! We are finally returning to PHYSICAL MEETUPS, so be sure to note the address and show up in person.
This event is about Niseq, a granular software video-synthesizer. There will be a live performance using Niseq, followed by a talk about how Niseq works, the ideas behind, the ecosystem of tooling and the resulting artistic workflows. The overall focus has especially been on avoiding any DAW- or NLE-like workflows and supporting as much live improvisation as possible.
The technical implementation, using especially statically typed functional programming, functional reactive programming (FRP) and server/client infrastructure for separating fringe functionality and UI out from the main application, will also be mentioned in passing. I'll be happy to answer more in-depth during Q/A.
More info on Niseq and art I've made using it can be found on https://r7p5.earth
The speaker is Claes Worm / rand, who's an independent artist and functional progammer, who intends to innovate the way live visual art is made.
