Making Toys in F# with Steve Goguen

Aug 24 - 25, 2017 · Washington, United States of America

Reflection is a fun meta tool. My favorite prototyping tool, LINQPad, has an awesome feature called the Dumper that is capable of displaying any object given to it.

Inspired by LINQPad's introspection capabilities, I'm going to show you how you can use basic reflection and pattern matching to create your own Dumper like tools and create tools that allow you to explore code with a simple web application.

We'll talk about why and where you should and create these sorts of tools.  They can be great tools for developers and internal users, but they also have frightening security implications if they're exposed to the outside world.
