Machine Learning with TensorFlow

Sep 1, 2016 · Saint Paul, United States of America

Abstract: TensorFlow has been a very popular tool among machine learning practitioners, ever since Google open sourced the tool towards the end of last year. With TensorFlow software, one can build deep learning models much easier than before. Deep learning models have taken artificial intelligence to the next level in areas like Natural Language Processing (NLP) and image recognition. Deep learning models like RNN and LTSM  require complex gradient computations, but TensorFlow simplifies those steps by providing built-in functions, so machine learning scientists spend less time coding and more time  evaluating and tuning models, developing the models faster. In this presentation, Sanjib will walk through some of the steps for building deep learning RNN models with NLP using TensorFlow. He will also discuss the advantages and challenges faced during model building.

Speaker: Sanjib Basak is Director of Data Science at Digital River Inc. where he is focused on building machine learning algorithms for a big data platform. Sanjib has 15+ years of experience working in the analytics field dealing with data management, application development, building statistical models and leading teams of data analysts/scientists. Sanjib is fascinated by deep learning and has been playing with Tensorflow for the last couple of months.

Parking: Parking is free this summer in the adjacent Anderson ramp.

Food: Pizza and drinks, first come first serve, starting at 6:30PM provided by Digital River
