London Android LiveCode #2

Sep 10, 2013 · Greater London, United Kingdom

We are very happy to announce the second London Android Livecode. It will take place @IWLondon

At this occasion, Laurence Dawson will present :
The Google Volley Networking Library for Android

Laurence Dawson - [masked]
I will start by giving an overview of the Volley library and of the reddit API.

I will then go straight into livecoding and show how to create a small news reading app using Volley for all the networking and then finish by styling the app to look pretty.

Automating Android Testing

Carl Jokl - @carljokl

I will begin by looking at the motivations for automating testing on Android. This will lead into a look at the different kinds of testing approaches to Android applications as well as different kinds of testing i.e. Unit Testing vs Acceptance Testing.

I will cover some of the common tools available for writing tests for Android such as Robotium, Roboletric and Selenium.

Time permitting I will demo a mock app being driven automatically by Robotium.
