Redis: Caching, Multi-Model DB and Event Processing with Java Abstract

About the event

Everyone has heard about Redis, the most adopted in-memory database - but have you reached a point where you can say "I know Redis" ? We'll bring you there!
Redis provides powerful distributed in-memory data structures but also multi-model database capabilities for dealing with time series, full text search and secondary indexes, graph, JSON as well as event processing. All this with first class Java integration with multiple API libraries supporting sync, async, reactive programming and stream processing.

We will walk you through the basics of Redis with Java and expand how modern microservices applications can leverage the multi-model nature of Redis to simplify building real time applications.
Through some code and real world examples you will understand how Redis architecture can be scaled with Redis.

About the Speakers

Kamran Yousaf
Kamran Yousaf is a Solution Architect at Redis with more than sixteen years experience in varied roles and technologies. He specialises in development of distributed, high performance, low latency architectures. During this time he has worked with a wide range of technologies and architectures from rule based development, grid and low latency application to enterprise file sync and share. Most recently he was CTO at a UK startup SME, a leader in enterprise file sync and share. Previously he has worked at GigaSpaces, BEA and Versata.

Alexandre Vasseur
Alexandre is heading Redis technical field engagements in EMEA. He and his team are in charge of technical awareness and solution architecture for customers, prospects and partners in that region to put Redis adoption on the right track when developing modern applications using Redis in-memory and multi-model database, and also when bringing it to production on any platform and clouds at any scale.
Previously Alexandre was leading the Pivotal technical field around Spring, Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes. In the earlier days of Java, he worked on the BEA JRockit JVM, Aspect Oriented programming and was a committer in Eclipse AspectJ.
