Let's Celebrate the Holidays, Network & Party!

Dec 14, 2017 · Palo Alto, United States of America

Our annual holiday party!

Lots of food, lots of people, lots of networking, lots of holiday cheer.

Celebrating the second anniversary of our re-launch, from the Engineering Leadership SIG.

Celebrating the launch of our YouTube channel. We have recordings of our June, July, September, October and soon November programs at:
   https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVe3Xf5B3bGE4AhMBpOPANQ

Enjoy the informal party atmosphere to be (or become!) part of the community; and feel free to let any of the SVELC Co-Chairs know your ideas about future SVELC meetings - topics you’d like to learn or speakers you’d like to hear from. You can even volunteer to be one of the dozen-plus volunteers who self-organize to make SVELC meetings happen month in and month out!

Remember our motto: Silicon Valley: Where relationships last longer than jobs.

Did you know there's manufacturing - big manufacturing - on Page Mill Road? Varian host John van Heteren will reprise last year's popular (and amazing) plant tour of where and how Varian's massive and leading-edge cancer treatment machines are made.

Agenda:

6:15 - 7:00 Early arrival recommended!
6:30 - 7:00 Registration / Checkin
6:30 - 8:45 Enjoy networking, along with wine, beer, soda, cheese, fruit, dinner, courtesy of tonight's sponsor
8:45 - 8:50 Clean up - please leave the room beautiful
8:50 - 9:00 Clear the room & have a safe trip home!

Location:

The Varian Cafeteria, 3130 Hansen Way, Palo Alto, has plentiful parking. If you map it on Google Maps, the pointer to 3130 Hansen Way, about at the kink in Hansen Way, is actually where the closest parking lot is. The cafeteria building is the buff curvy-winged building due south of the kink in Hansen Way. If you prefer public transportation, it's just a 22-minute walk from CalTrain's California Avenue station.

Tonight's sponsors:

Consensia provides cloud-based and on-premise PLM, ALM and QMS solutions and services for managing product development from design to manufacturing for the semiconductor, consumer electronics, high-tech, and medical devices sector.

Kimberly Wiefling, author of Scrappy Project Management, keynote speaker, executive coach, project management consultant, and a whirlwind of energy. Her work with Silicon Valley Alliances transforms managers into leaders and groups of people into real teams who can achieve what SEEMS impossible, but is merely difficult! Never one to lecture, her facilitated events and "workshocks" are learning laboratories where people can practice applying more effective approaches.
