Content strategy is a pursuit that needs awareness, reflection, and imagination to work. But more than anything, it needs actual humans.

It needs their dynamics. And not only how they react to the work we create, but how they engage every step of our processes. It means managing human circumstances along the way—not just at publication, not just at launch.

This talk is a conversation about handling those circumstances—for making the theory of content strategy adapt to some of what we actually experience. Specifically:

• Identifying, creating, and getting opportunities in content strategy

• Contributing once you do

• Dealing with some of the tensions you may face while trying
