Leading Beyond Change: From Servant Leadership to Evolutionary Leadership

There is much attention on the organizational pursuit of Business Agility and other new ways of working to meet the demands of the changing world. Yet, most of what people believe about leadership, effective workplaces, and how to create lasting change is either incomplete or outright incorrect. For over 40 years, Servant Leadership has been the dominant model. It’s time to evolve.

Based on the book Leading Beyond Change, we introduce Evolutionary Leadership as the natural evolution of Servant Leadership. The emergence of a high-performance organization is wholly dependent on the evolution of those holding power. As such, the key factor for organizational evolution is the shift of leaders to a more evolved (Teal, Exponential, etc) consciousness (worldview, mindset). It’s about the inner shift needed to unlock the practical skills and techniques. We introduce the SHIFT314 Evolutionary Leadership Framework™ (SELF) that provides a comprehensive system for navigating culture, leadership and organizational change.

Michael is the founder and CEO of SHIFT314 Inc - a bespoke leadership training and consulting organization that specializes in the organizational culture and leadership shifts needed to unlock success with Agile, Digital, Lean, etc. He is the co-creator of the SHIFT314 Evolutionary Leadership Framework™ (SELF) that provides practical step-by-step for the inner and outer shifts needed to unlock Business Agility, Teal and other new ways of working. Michael has trained thousands of leaders worldwide through his highly accoladed Certified Agile Leadership Training. In 2012, he published the ground-breaking book "An Agile Adoption and Transformation Survival Guide: Working with Organizational Culture". Michael’s published "Emotional Science" in 2018 and “Leading Beyond Change” in 2021.
